HAPPY HOLIDAY and NEW YEAR

It has been quit a long time since I have had a chance to post anything. 2014 turned out to be a year of ups and downs. My Mother started out last year with some health issues that had her in the hospital twice. Both times it had to do with medication issues but all is well. Everything got sorted and she has been doing fine. We celebrated her 93rd birthday earlier this month. The biggest news is that my daughter(43) announced that she was expecting her first child and the due date was December 14. I was elated about this. I never thought this would happen because of her age. Well, her little one made a surprise entrance on September 28 via an emergency c-section. Baby Gideon weighed  3 lbs. 2 oz.  and was 29 weeks along. It was such a surreal experience that we were all dazed when it happened. We have been incredibly blessed though as he was perfect from day one and began to thrive. My daughter was amazing and spent every day going to the hospital NICU nursery and spent her days giving her baby kangaroo care. He finally came home on December 18 and weighs 8 lbs. now. You can imagine how our Christmas was this year. Pure joy!!!! He is darling and my Mother was so thrilled because this is her first Great-Grandchild.

I am in love with this precious gift.

2014

I hope 2014 is proving to be a wonderful year for everyone so far. For myself, I am really looking forward to having time for miniatures at some point. It has been far too long since I have had the time. There have been so many things in my RL that have been in the way for anything creative. My Mother has had a few health issues that have kept me busy but Thankfully  she is a strong woman(92) and keeps battling through all of the blips. There have also been a couple of house issues that needed attention(plumbing) and sorting through some of the 50 +years of accumulation my Mother managed to do. The one thing that has kept my sanity for the last few months is knitting. My daughter and I took a class a few months ago to learn how and I love it. I am looking forward to trying my hand at miniature knitting someday. (How many scarves does one person need?) I periodically have been looking at all of the amazing things all of you have been posting and it thrills me to see all of the wonderful creativity.  The time will come again for me. I am learning to flow with everything and not stress. I will be back into miniatures soon. I hope everyone is doing well. Love all of your posts!
I thought I would share a picture I took of a darling statue I bought at an antique store a few years ago and gave to my Mother. He is above the kitchen sink and is a pleasure to look at when there are dishes to be done.  I am playing around with the iPhone my daughter gave me for Christmas. The camera seems to be really great!     Love,Patty
